Time Lapse Construction Sequence 3D Drawing

In creating my TLCS drawing, I chose to focus on the construction of Reinforced Concrete (RC) Frames. This decision was influenced by the substantial progress and completion we observed during our site visits, particularly in the finalization of the RC Frames. While the construction process can be deemed challenging, especially in the initial stages, once the RC frame is out of the ground, it becomes relatively straightforward. Given the repetition of the floor structures, the future levels effectively involve a repeating operation similar to copying and pasting.

Process and Learning

In creating the TLCS sequence, I took on the task entirely, relying on my own drawings and information gathered from both on-site visits and online videos detailing the construction of Reinforced Concrete (RC) Frames. The initial sketches during Performa were quick formwork outlines, and as my understanding of RC frames deepened through research, I developed the sequence independently. While I personally witnessed the completion of the RC frames and the concrete pouring on the last floor of block H, the challenge lay in understanding the entire process, particularly the complexities involved in getting the frames off the ground. This encouraged me to carry out further research, revealing the complexities of steelwork and reinforcing bars and giving a remarkable learning experience throughout the construction sequence.
